Defending California’s Environmental Protection Laws
The California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA) is one of the strongest environmental and public health protection laws in the nation, enabling local communities to influence important land-use decisions that affect the environmental health of the places where they live, work, and go to school. Legislative efforts to undermine CEQA’s protections continue as developers and polluters seek to earn quick profits by weakening this landmark law.
Project
Together with the California Environmental Justice Alliance, Center on Race, Poverty and the Environment, Planning and Conservation League, and other leading environmental justice and conservation groups, Public Good PR helped build and manage a coalition of more than 100 organizations working to keep the California Environmental Quality Act strong. Public Good PR provided a communications roadmap for the group, placed op-eds in statewide outlets, including the Los Angeles Times, Sacramento Bee, San Francisco Chronicle, and San Jose Mercury News, and generated numerous local print and broadcast media stories.
