Improving the Health and Sustainability of LA’s Water Supply

LA River<br />

Los Angeles County spends almost $300 million a year to better manage urban and stormwater runoff, with the larger goal of providing safe clean drinking water to all county residents while providing community investment benefits, particularly to disadvantaged communities. The non-profit organization Los Angeles Waterkeeper released a detailed critique of the county’s Safe Clean Water Program, offering suggestions for improving this innovative voter-approved program. LA Waterkeeper also works to improve management of the LA River, clean up the river and LA’s beaches, and move the region toward becoming completely water self-sufficient.

Project

Public Good PR worked closely with LA Waterkeeper staff to help draft a report that offered recommendations for making the Safe Clean Water Program even stronger; develop messaging; facilitate a webinar-based press conference about the report; and garner media attention, including an op-ed, a guest article in a national trade publication, and numerous interviews on regional and national TV. We also provide ongoing strategic communications support for LA Waterkeeper.
