Supporting the Communications Efforts of Migratory Bird Joint Ventures
North America has lost three billion birds since 1970. Counteracting that trend, Migratory Bird Joint Ventures bring together broad collaborations of public and private partners to conserve bird habitat while supporting multiple benefits for people and communities. These joint ventures have helped turn things around for wetland birds, which have rebounded due to conservation efforts. The benefits these joint ventures provide to communities include such things as flood protection, groundwater replenishment, water filtration and water security, carbon sequestration, increased access to outdoor recreation, and buffering shorelines against storm surges.
Project
Public Good PR has supported the communications efforts of several Migratory Bird Joint Ventures. For the Central Valley Joint Venture in California, we edited and coordinated the design of their ten-year Implementation Plan; developed a detailed Communications Plan; updated their website; drafted communications materials; and conducted media outreach to help the CVJV and its member organizations reach their multiple target audiences. We also developed a detailed Communications Plan for the JV8 Central Grasslands Conservation Initiative (a coalition of eight regional joint ventures), as well as creating fact sheets and updating their website. For the San Francisco Bay Joint Venture, we supported the launch of their new dynamic report website, including updating messaging; creating communications materials; and placing several stories in influential Bay Area and statewide media outlets.
